Excavating Buried Stories of African Icons and African Kingdoms
The project will help tell the untold stories of icons and kingdoms that are part of the African diaspora prior to enslavement. Through completing this project, students will be empowering future writers of tomorrow by helping each student to become a published author if they elect to publish it through a vendor such as Amazon. They will inspire, affirm, and inform this generation and generations to come with their original book.
As the students write original content for their books, they will inform students about African icons and powerful kingdoms, so students will have a well-rounded view of individuals that are part of the African diaspora; yet, they will also inspire students to use their gifts and talent to make an impact upon the world by encouraging them to do great things like some of the African icons.
Lastly, writers will compare children to the people that are part of various kingdoms and compare them to ancient African icons to remind them that they are beautiful, unique, intelligent, and so much more. Furthermore, students will enhance their critical thinking, global competency, and communication skills.
